چکیده

Integrations in fixed N-body realisations of smooth density distributions corresponding to a chaotic galactic potential can be used to derive reliable estimates of the largest (finite time) Lyapunov exponent χS associated with an orbit in the smooth potential generated from the same initial condition, even though the N -body orbit is typically characterised by an N -body exponent χN χS. This can be accomplished either by comparing initially nearby orbits in a single N -body system or by tracking orbits with the same initial condition evolved in two different N -body realisations of the same smooth density.

A Secure Chaos-Based Communication Scheme in Multipath Fading Channels Using Particle Filtering

In recent years chaotic secure communication and chaos synchronization have received ever increasing attention. Unfortunately, despite the advantages of chaotic systems, Such as, noise-like correlation, easy hardware implementation, multitude of chaotic modes, flexible control of their dynamics, chaotic self-synchronization phenomena and potential communication confidence due to the very dynami...

CONTROL OF CHAOS IN A DRIVEN NON LINEAR DYNAMICAL SYSTEM

We present a numerical study of a one-dimensional version of the Burridge-Knopoff model [16] of N-site chain of spring-blocks with stick-slip dynamics. Our numerical analysis and computer simulations lead to a set of different results corresponding to different boundary conditions. It is shown that we can convert a chaotic behaviour system to a highly ordered and periodic behaviour by making on...

Chaos and the continuum limit in the gravitational N-body problem: integrable potentials.

This paper summarizes a numerical investigation of the statistical properties of orbits evolved in "frozen," time-independent N-body realizations of smooth, time-independent density distributions corresponding to integrable potentials, allowing for 10(2.5) < or = N < or = 10(5.5). Two principal conclusions were reached: (1) In agreement with recent work by Valluri and Merritt, one finds that, i...

Chaos and Chaotic Phase Mixing in Galaxy Evolution and Charged Particle Beams

This paper discusses three new issues that necessarily arise in realistic attempts to apply nonlinear dynamics to galaxy evolution, namely: (i) the meaning of chaos in many-body systems, (ii) the time-dependence of the bulk potential, which can trigger intervals of transient chaos, and (iii) the self-consistent nature of any bulk chaos, which is generated by the bodies themselves, rather than i...

Discretization of a fractional order ratio-dependent functional response predator-prey model, bifurcation and chaos

This paper deals with a ratio-dependent functional response predator-prey model with a fractional order derivative. The ratio-dependent models are very interesting, since they expose neither the paradox of enrichment nor the biological control paradox. We study the local stability of equilibria of the original system and its discretized counterpart. We show that the discretized system, which is...
